Know Where To Go
Immediate Care vs Urgent Care
Both terms describe the same level of walk-in care for non-life-threatening illness and injury. Here’s what makes First Choice Immediate Care different from a typical urgent care.
Immediate Care
Walk-in · No appointment · Insurance copay
What we handle on-site:
- Cold, flu, sore throat, sinus infection
- UTI, ear infection, pink eye
- Sprains, minor fractures, cuts & stitches
- Minor burns, rashes, allergic reactions
- On-site X-ray, rapid COVID/flu/strep, lab work
- Sports, school, DOT physicals
- Vaccines & immunizations
⏱ Typical wait: 15 minutes
Urgent Care
Walk-in · Similar copay · Varies by clinic
What you typically get:
- Treats the same minor injuries & illnesses
- Many clinics lack on-site X-ray (sent elsewhere)
- Some require appointments after 5pm
- May refer out for occupational medicine
- Wait times can stretch 30–60+ minutes
- Limited rapid testing on-site
The difference: “Immediate care” and “urgent care” describe the same level of care — what matters is what each clinic actually offers under one roof.
First Choice Immediate Care handles the full list above with on-site X-ray and lab at both Naperville and Chicago Archer Ave locations — walk in any weekday during open hours.
